01 Mar University-Industry Innovation Network recognition for Smart Cities, Smart Futures
Smart Cities – Smart Futures Wisconsin received recognition from the European-based University-
Industry Innovation Network (UIIN).
UIIN is the largest global association of industry/university economic development academics and professionals. Each year, UIIN hosts a series of global competitions in various categories.
The Smart Cities, Smart Futures initiative has been singled out for two honors:
- First, this past fall, it was recognized as a UIIN Global “Next Practice,” defined as an innovative idea to be watched, studied, and emulated. Our poster highlighting this effort was featured at the UIIN Asia-Pacific conference in Sydney, Australia, in February 2019.
- Second, Smart Cities, Smart Futures was just recognized as a UIIN Global “Good Practice,” defined as a creative and effective means of recognizing and building strong collaborations and partnerships across diverse audiences. This “Good Practice” effort will be featured at the UIIN Annual conference to be held in Helsinki, Finland, in June 2019.
